Here at Amberth, we are always on the lookout for staircase storage ideas to maximise storage space effectively. Today we are looking at creative ways to utilise the space beneath your stairs.
In the project below, we designed a utility cupboard to store the washing machine and dryer that seamlessly integrates into the overall kitchen design, utilising the space to its best potential.
In this family home, having a small guest toilet underneath the stairs proved to be the best solution for practicality purposes. With the main bathroom being two floors up, it wasn’t ideal for people using the kitchen/diner, and although the space is small, the use of colour and positioning of mirrors opens the space, creating an illusion of greater depth. A toilet beneath the stairs is a great way to use space.

If you have a large staircase, open storage for books and other decorative accessories works well. If your space is unusual or awkward in shape, we can create a bespoke solution to suit your home perfectly!

Closed storage is a great way to store clothes or shoes keeping your space neat and tidy, and pull out drawers are a good way to utilise the entire depth of the space.
Don’t get caught up with the idea of needing this space to be perfectly arranged. Carve the space out and get your doors on, you can then allow this area to evolve over time.
